Why did I choose this song as the main theme to the story?
When I was writing, I would look up music to keep me going. What would keep me writing? What songs perked my interest? Listening to some italian music was the trick. It was soothing and went with what I was writing. I came across Oblivion by Astor Piazolla and was madly in love with the piece. Such a beautiful music and gave you the feels of Italy.
Astor Pantaleón Piazzolla (Spanish pronunciation: [pjaˈsola], Italian pronunciation: [pjatˈtsɔlla]; March 11, 1921 – July 4, 1992) was an Argentine tango composer, bandoneon player, and arranger. His works revolutionized the traditional tango into a new style termed Nuevo tango, incorporating elements from jazz and classical music. A virtuoso bandoneonist, he regularly performed his own compositions with a variety of ensembles.
Once I researched him and the song I wanted to incorporate something new in the book. A scene where you would fall in love with Leonardo and the romantic gestures he does to express his love.
Ladies, we all desire a knight in shining armor. We all want a man to make us feel special and a goddess to them. Not only that, we fall for the tough guy, danger look as well. The tango play was my idea to add to the book. The details of the theater I remember watching the movie Anastasia and the part where she is taken by Dimitri to meet her grandmother. They're at an Opera theater. So I imagined a Broadway theater just like that, of course my boring self never been to a play, so I had to research and bring my imagination to life. I wanted the romance to be thoughtful and have you as a reader admiring the fact this person was making you have all types of the feel. Making you want a Leonardo Donati to run in to your life some day.
